GMSL has been consistently providing their clients a comprehensive range of value - added products, which can be tailored to suit particular specifications; these include (but are not limited to):
Order Progress Reports:
Specifically for projects involving various suppliers on sub-con tract basis, GMSL will act on the client’s instructions to contract suppliers on a regular basis to ensure deliveries are available in accordance with the specified contract period. Weekly pre-delivery reports are issued to the client. This service can be applied on both a national and international basis.
Export Packing:
Provision of a comprehensive range of products, ranging from tri wall cartons to plywood boxes, to specialize wooded crates and cases. The service includes a complete design facility; packing can be performed on or off site, depending on the client’s preferences.
Warehousing / Consolidation:
Certain contracts require goods to be warehoused prior to onward dispatch, or goods from different suppliers to be consolidated in a central location. Both operations can be handled at our central warehouse in Karachi; alternatively, we can arrange identical operations at other locations in Pakistan, usually at or near the port of export / import, which can be effected for economical and/or logistical reasons.
Container Stuffing:
GMSL is able to offer expert advice on loading and securing cargo in containers, particularly for awkward or out-of-gauge pieces, and where required we can supply Cargo Superintendent, labour, and materials to provide and on-site stuffing facility, alternatively, we can receive equipment and stuff containers at our own terminal.
Letter of Credit Negotiation:
In conjunction with our Consular Services, we also offer a complete documentation service for clients, which includes preparation of ALL export documentation as required by a particular Letter of Credit/Contract Order; and we negotiate the documents through the bank on behalf of the client, to ensure that funds are received in full and within the specified time limit.
Insurance:
Full marine transit cover can be placed for virtually all types of cargo.
Cargo Superintendancy:
GMSL are one of very few forwarding companies employing a Cargo Superintendent on a permanent basis to deal with cargo stowage - we regard this as absolutely essential to our ‘modus operandi’. All GMSL cargo handling and supervision is controlled by our cargo Superintendent, Capt Waseem Ahmed Qurashi, who was sea-going from 1962 with Furness Withy, reaching command status in 1973, and continuing with United Arab Shipping Co until 1988, initially at sea, and then as Cargo Superintendent and Cargo Manager.
Vessel Chartering:
GMSL have direct representation on the Baltic Exchange, thereby we are able to match any cargoes with a suitable vessel, ranging from bulk cargoes to hazardous cargoes, from general cargoes to specialized heavy lifts. We are able to advise on Charter Parties, Charterers Liability Insurance, and to provide a complete stevedoring and rigging service at both ends.
Pakistan Export Control / Compliance:
The Export of Goods (Control) Order imposes restraints on the export of certain classes of goods and failure to comply, with this and other embargoes and sanctions, is an offence against the law (with appropriate penalties). We can provide expert advice to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
